The campaign of Congressman Mike Bost (R-Murphysboro) leaked their third quarter fundraising numbers Friday while the campaign of his opponent, former Sen. Darren Bailey, had refused to give any specifics on their fundraising. It turns out, Bost has a huge cash advantage.

Bost raised around $538,000 in the third quarter and had around $1.17 million cash on hand on September 30.

Bailey, who entered the race right after the Fourth of July, raised around $172,000 in the third quarter and finished September with around $108,000 cash on hand.

But Bailey’s campaign immediately attempted to attack Bost for his donors, including beverage company Anheuser-Busch. A-B is the company that produces Bud Light beer, which became a right-wing target after the company signed an endorsement deal with a trans online influencer.

The Bost campaign did not respond publicly to the Bailey campaign’s attacks.
