Barrington Hills village trustee Darby Hills has won the 26th District Senate seats vacated by former Sen. Dan McConchie last month.
Rep. Marty McLaughlin (R-Barrington Hills) was seen as the favorite for the appointment after McConchie’s preferred successor, Illinois GOP Chair Kathy Salvi’s son, Joe, did not apply for the seat.
McLaughlin had pledged a primary next year if Salvi were appointed. I haven't reached out to him yet. More on that next week.
Hills is an attorney who also works with a local charity. She was also Mrs. Illinois in 2021.
