According to her LinkedIn profile, Stacy Bennett is a researcher and professor in the University of Illinois Office of Community College Research and Leadership. She has a Ph.D. in Higher Education Policy from the U of I and a Masters in Public Policy from the University of Chicago. A native of Nebraska, she graduated from Kansas State University in 2000.

The couple met as interns in the White House in 1999 and were married in 2002.

Ingram, who has enough of the weighted vote between Champaign and Vermilion counties to appoint Stacy Bennett himself, says she will be sworn in as early as today.
